First 2020 Sunday Service at Love Divine Sanctuary (05/01/2020)

The dust of end of year festivities has not settled yet as other celebrations follow suit. It’s in this light that Christians of LDS from far and near, physically and virtually, put aside their personal programs to listen to the sermon of the year given by Rev BAHOYA Samuel from Yashua Tabernacle in Yaoundé.

The praise service led by the music mogul Brother Fleuris Betchou himself lasted about one hour. The connection was then established with Yaoundé where the man of God mounted the altar for the continuation of the service. The man of God introduced his sermon with a preamble on the importance of praise.

Reading from Act 2 v 42-46, he entitled his sermon “Togetherness” emphasizing on the four pillars of the teaching of the apostles; which are the apostles’ doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayers. It is in this light that was created the age groups whose annual conference was held just some days ago. The pastor notably spoke about fraternal communion and invited everyone to seek peace with the brothers. Anyone who has offended someone or suffered any harm should ask for forgiveness and make peace, but not expose others. Let each man give a faithful account of his dream or vision without trying to interpret it.

It was also about respecting men of God. You should not find faults in your pastor, for when you do you are disconnected. This is the reason for the blockage and failure of many brethren. The man of God took the example of Billy, the prophet’s son who mocked at him. The prophet simply distance himself from His son because he felt that He who was in him was not happy with his son’s behaviour. Do not look at the man but look at the Word of God. The Bible is clear about this and declares that the men of God are saints for us. We therefore owe them absolute respect and loyalty as was the case with Joshua and Caleb with regard to Moses. Instead of looking for their faults, we should rather support them in prayer.

The next part of the sermon was the prophetic dimension. Rev BAHOYA Samuel read from Ezekiel 44 v 30 before entertaining the congregation on the law o sowing. He mentioned the payment of tithes and offerings. As an example, he showed us how he proceeds to pay his tithing in order to always be in good standing with God. Tithing, he said, must be paid before debts, rent, prescriptions, etc. Regarding the offerings, he noted that those that Christians are paying at this time are not far from alms. The offering, he said again, is a sacrifice, it must hurt you. That, he said, is financial intelligence. It is on this note that the man of God pronounced prayers of blessings on the people but not before letting them offer a thanksgiving offering for the decade that had just past by. Rev Samuel invoked on God to grant all sorts of blessings, healthwise, material, financial and above all spiritual on the audience both far and near as well as all who will listen to the tape.
