SPECIAL END OF YEAR PRAYER MEETINGS
There is a famous song that sings “prayer is the key, prayer is the key, prayer is the master key, Jesus started with prayers and ended with prayers, prayer is the master key”. Yes, prayer is the master key because it opens all doors, breaks all bounds, and unlocks all difficult situations. Prayers obtains God’s favor and mercy, prayers delivers, prayers intercede, prayers chaste and cast out demons, prayers heals, and the list is long. The prophet in the sermon Expectation 50-0405-New York says “It’s-it’s on prayers that I count. It is the secret of all the mysteries of God. Prayers, is the key that opens the door to all the things of God”. The importance of prayers can not be over mentioned as after the break of fellowship in the Garden of Eden between God and man, the appropriate way man could talk to God was through prayers. The whole Bible is therefore full of prayers of consultations, supplications, thanksgiving, forgiveness, pardon, deliverance, vengeance, adorations, and worships. Examples are uncountable in the Bible, in the Old as well as the New Testaments. In the New Testament we can read some examples of prayers from Matthew 21:22 and 26:41, Luke 18:1, 19:46 and 21:36, Acts 1:14 and 24, Mark 14:32, Romance 12:12, Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2, James 5:13-18, and the list is exhaustive. It’s for this reason that Paul tells us in I Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing”.
End of years are usually characterized by high manifestations of satan and its agents. The Bible tells us, the devil come to steal, destroy and to kill; he is roaming like a wounded lion, seeking for a soul to devour. The Christian therefore have to arm himself with the most powerful weapon as said by the prophet in the sermon The Faith That Was Once Given To The Saints 57-0611- Indianapolis “You can not withhold a saint from his prayers. It is the most powerful weapon that man has ever gotten”. Also in the sermon The Believing God 52-0224, the prophet says “As a Christian, we have received from Christ authority, in His Name; the most powerful weapon that the world have ever known, prayers”. The Christian have to therefore watch and pray fervently in this period of the year. This period is usually characterized by accidents, temptations due to the attractions (enticing spirits) of the world, sacrifices to idols, fornication (where young girls and boys lost their virginity) and adultery (where married men and women interchange partners), financial drought, and illnesses. It is the period where the devil is highly at work as this period registers the highest number of sin and crime more than any period of the year.
Being inspired and led by the Holy Spirit, the Man of God, Pastor Bahoya Samuel has since the 1st of December launched a counter attack on the works of satan and its agents using the powerful weapon that man has ever got which is prayers. Apart from the Word that occupies the first position and which is indispensible, all the services have been prayer oriented services. Meeting days are now Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays for all his Christians doted worldwide. The results of this special prayer program are very visible as it has brought a revival in the church through the confession of sins, repentance, testimonies of deliverance, healings, breakthroughs, regaining of fellowship with God, thereby exposing the works of satan amongst the Christians. Another indicator of results is the drastically increase in the number of attendance in weekly meetings despite the addition of an extra day. There were therefore prayers of cleansing and purification, sanctification, repentance, deliverance, healings, blessings, restoration, thanksgiving and praises.
As announced by the Man of God on the 1st of December, he has personally been presiding over all these special end of year prayer meetings, most of which has been from Yaounde at Yahshua Hamashia Tabernacle. To prepare and orientate the Christians towards the target of these prayers, the Man of God read from the Bible, Ephesians 6:10-12. From this, he enlightened his audience to put on the whole armor of God and be vigilant in order to withstand the enticing of satan in this period. He said the fight is not destined unto flesh and blood, but against: principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. But he raised awareness by indicating that, since spirits are not operational without bodies, if there is any agent of the devil amongst the Christians that satan is using to operate, they may be affected by the Fire of the Holy Ghost as It is send out.
He also read from Romans 7:14-21 and reminded the Christians to be spiritual and not canal. They should receive the kingdom of God as children by keeping their reasoning and self righteousness aside for there is no good found in man. They are to humble themselves and pray for God to purge them from all hindering spirits that are hidden in man such as family spirits, tribal spirits, national spirits, and denominational spirits. Everybody is aspiring to do good, but these spirits that are in man are fighting against. As written in Proverbs 25:28, so are men who don’t have control of their spirit.
He also read John 8:32-45 to tell the Christians not to be slaves to sin but to be sons and daughters of God who remain permanently and continuously in the presence of God. If they are slaves to sin as the Scribes and Pharisees they will do the works of their father which is the devil, but if they are God’s sons and abide in His presence, they will do the works of their Father who is God. Prayers were therefore raised in the domains that hinder the Christian from fully, effectively and joyfully serving his God as will be presented below.
Firstly, there was prayer of examination, cleansing and purification. The Pastor called on all the Christians to examine themselves, all the hidden sins, known or unknown and pray for God to purge them. They should pray for God to search, try, and reveal to them any hidden sin. May God correct anything that is wrong in their lives and help them correct the ones that depend on them. God who find sin even in His angles, what more of us humans, may He search us and know our heart, if He find any sin in us, may He uproot. Even in His children Israel He never spared sin as the Bible tell us, Israel has fallen because it neglected a sin on the helm of its garment. May God remove all the deposits of the devil in us so that satan will have nothing to claim from our lives.
Secondly, there was the prayer of deliverance from nuisance spirits that prohibits the children of God from having complete joy in the Lord. This domain was really targeted as it is very broad. The Pastor talked of the many prayer topics that are mounting up to him, how people are suffering, and called on all to pray, those who think they don’t have problems should associate with him to pray for others. Some of the spirits of nuisance that were targeted were sickness, financial drought and hardship, unemployment, persecution, marriages with no peace, happiness, joy, and blessing, witchcraft, bondage of sin such as slandering, lying, disobedience and impudicity. The Fire of the Holy Ghost was therefore send out to unveil, expose, uproot, and destroy all the works and arrows of the devil upon the children of God. The spirit of slandering or gossiping and discrepancy was chaste and cast out from the mist of God’s children.
Also, there were prayers of sanctification and guard upon temptations. Jesus said in Matthew 26:41 and Luke 21:34-36 that Christians have to take heed of themselves, watch and pray in order not to fall into temptation by the attraction and enticing of this world. The prophet supports this in the sermon Teachings On Moses 56-0513, when he said “It is what prayer does for the believer. It is what preserves you from all that is of the world.” It is in this period that the devil leads young boys and girls into loosing their virginity and drinking of alcohol, uncalculated expenditures by parents which explain the usual financial drought in January. Many even lust and convert worldly things and way of life as they see unbelievers go about in this festive period. The Pastor therefore prayed with the Christians for God to keep them from falling into sin through the desires and enticing of the world during this period.
Furthermore, there were prayers of intercession for love ones, friends, family and the nation. Knowing how dangerous this period is always, Pastor called on all to intercede for others for God’s protection and mercy upon them. Many people usually travel during this period either to go rejoice with those that are rejoicing or to go morn with those that are morning. It was therefore the opportunity to pray for journey mercies for all. There was also a call to intercede for those that are sick and in difficult situations.
Also, prayers of restoration were raised to the Lord. In Joel 2: 25, God promises to restore to His children all what the enemy in its various forms has devoured. All that the devil has stolen from God’s children such as their marriages, intelligence, success, riches, jobs, and other blessings were to be restored. The joy, peace, happiness, fellowship with God which makes the children of God thirst after Him as written in Psalms 42 was to be restored. Also, as written in Matthew 7:7 that you ask and it shall be given to you, the Pastor called on all to ask from God what ever thing they wish and it shall be given them for God is the giver of all good and perfect gifts. The prophet tells us that we should not limit God, for a fish in the sea can not limit itself drinking the waters for fear it will dry up. The Bible says, yet you have not yet ask, ask so that I will give you for your joy to be complete.
Lastly, there were prayers of worship, thanksgiving and praises unto God for answered prayers, blessings and deliverance. The presence of the Holy Spirit in the camp during this period of prayers brought joy, peace, happiness, comfort, courage, and victory unto the children of God. prayers of appreciations were therefore raised unto God in return.
We conclude by saying that, it is worth praying without ceasing as written in I Thessalonians 5:17. The prophet says in the sermon, To Who is The Hand of The Lord Revealed 50-0824 “We can laugh enough; we can talk enough; we can walk enough; but we can never pray enough”. Who can deny the fact that the devil is always at work, like a roaming lion, looking for a soul to devour? Who can deny the fact that the devil is always seeking for where the children of God are to persecute? Who can deny the fact that the end of year is always a catch-up period for the devil to steal, to destroy and to kill? The inspiration of the Man of God by the Holy Spirit towards this Special End of Year Prayers can not therefore be over mention as the physical and spiritual results are very vivid from the numerous testimonies. If we have not heard of others testimonies, at least we must have heard of that of the pastor how he and his family were miraculously saved from accident. Once more, pray without ceasing. “In fact, prayer doesn’t bring God down towards man. It takes man up to God” William Marrion Branham in: You Knoweth All Things 52-0716. God bless your reading.
