Last Sunday Service at Love Divine Sanctuary

Sunday 18th August was not just an ordinary service at Love Divine Sanctuary but also a celebration of love. Our brother KOUEKAM Sharon and sister GWEHA Rachel were united in the sacred bonds of marriage. Brothers, sisters and invitees filled the church premises as early as 9 am despite the rain that graced the morning. The church hall was brightly decorated to match the ambiance of the day. The praise and adoration service was simply divine as brotherFleurie BEUTCHOU led the congregation from song to song in a melodious harmony. Rev Samuel BAHOYA then took the floor to read some announcements of general interest. A wonderful testimony was given by a sister who was miraculously healed of cancer of the uterus. Commenting on that, the man of God called upon the brethren not to shy away from hospitals for God heals by so many ways: medicine, love, prayers, comprehension, singing, etc. If you have enough faith, you could heal instantly after prayers or you could heal gradually. The man of God shall then proceed to present a baby to the Lord as the Mary presented the baby Jesus in the temple. Then the floor was given to brother Fleurie to coordinate the entry of the couple. First, the groom’s entry: dressed in elegant white tuxedo and black trousers, he walked majestically on the red carpet put up for the circumstance. The entry of the bridesmaid was spectacular accompanied by musical instruments. The girls had long red dresses each holding a white and gold bouquets of flowers to match the ones that were lined along the alley. Finally, came the bride, her father by her side, both smiling slowly walked down the aisle. It was really a solemn moment. Rev Samuel BAHOYA shall say later that it made him think of the marriage between the earthly bride and the heavenly groom.

The speaker of the day, Rev LAMBE Robinson started his preamble by saluting Pastors Mayo Benjamin returning from convalescence and pastor Boyo Jules from Bafia as well as all the beloved brethren present that day. He went on to congratulate the bride for her hard work in producing a colourful wedding. It is important to note here that the curtains and other decorations in the church hall was done by the bride. “Do not exclude God from beauty”, he said. Dress honourably and with dignity when coming to the house of the Lord.

The sermon entitled “Let’s stop hurting/wounding one another” was a repeat of last Sunday’s sermon as the request of our pastor. As we all know, when the Holy Spirit repeats something then we have to heed attention. Reading from Proverbs 18 v 8, 18-19, he said the focus of wounds is in marriages. It is there that people hurt each other each day. Why does the wound of daughter not heal? Is there not balm in Gilead? Today, Christians are forced to go from place to place, sometimes do unwanted things to get children and go from deception to deception hence are saddened. I beg thee, in the name of Jesus, always be happy. A cheerful heart is a good medicine. When I heard you sing a while ago, I was amazed, he said, they are happy without alcohol. Your soul is different from your body and today the focus was on the soul. Many are sad in life because of sterility, sickness, poverty, etc but your state has nothing to do with the greatness of the God. The essential is for you to have inner peace. My children, he went on to address the new couple, you will face many challenges in this life but just as you listen to doctors’ prescriptions you should listen to the men of God for they are God’s doctors. God wants to do something but he needs men and women that are spiritually healthy. Before entering into this marriage, make sure all your wounds have been properly cured. My brother, my sister, you claim to have forgiven but deep in you, you are still hurt. I was astonished by the Holy Spirit who used the example of a computer which can delete file but keep them in the trash can to prove to us that we can forget but the hurt stays deep I our trash cans. Its in the marriage life that the couple discovers itself. Before that, everything seems perfect. But when reality sets in after marriage, each person brings out his true character. You need an instant healing capacity to go through. Brothers and sisters that take lightly what they do or how they treat each other. We have a pile of unconfessed things. You block blessings from God because of unclean hearts and God cannot walk in the midst of an unclean people. Your reaction when you meet someone can tell what feelings you have for him. Very few have the courage to ask for forgiveness for their actions, we take a lot of things lightly and play with the souls of people without realising the impact of our actions on them. If a small virus can give you diarrhoea or a mosquito bite malaria what more of your action on someone’s soul? When an antelope is wounded it runs to a stream for healing, and Jesus is that stream for the Christian. The medicine to attacks from others is to imitate our master Jesus “Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing”. When you have really forgiven, you should make a gesture of kindness towards that person. Just like Joseph who was openly sold by his brothers but who forgave them. Empty your hearts, it is with these words that the man of God ended his sermon.
